About the Kirk Project

John and Alyson Kirk

I'll guide you to amazing places

The Kirk Project is an embodiment of our mission to inspire ourselves and others to dream bigger and develop long-term goals, exemplify dedication in striving toward these goals, and plan for success in achieving them. We continue to redefine what we're capable of, and how hard we're willing to try. A life lived authentically and passionately striving to be better is the life better lived.

In addition to climbing all of Colorado's traditional list of 12,000'+ peaks, John and Alyson became the second and third persons ever to complete the 2,311 10,000'+ peaks in Colorado in October 2020 (prior to LiDAR list adjustments). Alyson is best known as a competitive ultra-runner with many 1st place finishes. John also finds purpose and meaning in bouldering and strength training. John and Alyson both have climbed over 7,000 unique summits throughout the USA.

John is also the developer of the "Lists of John" which helps peakbaggers list their latest summits and get a lot of information about the mountains they are interested in.

John and Alyson on TV

This is a video from Ch 2 in Denver from Chris Tomer.  It gives a good description about the Kirk's accomplishments.

Alyson and John Kirk just finished all the 11ers, 12ers, 13ers, and 14ers in Colorado. That's a grand total of 1781 summits. They also announced their next big project called the Kirk Project to climb all the 12ers in the contiguous United States.

grizzlies

You may have noticed the bear icons around Alyson's website, well, they are her spirit animal because of an encounter she had with a Grizzly Bear in Wyoming.  Here's a video that she shot of a couple of grizzlies playing on a snow field.
