About Alyson Kirk in her own words

I’ve transformed my life, and I can do the same for you.

In 2017, I wrote my first book, “On My Way Up”, and it was a real success. My upcoming book, “On My Way Up Round Two”, is a firsthand encounter of what it’s like to survive death multiple times in one’s life and come out on top.  It offers inspiration and motivation no matter who you are or how grim your circumstances may be.  I will help you to strive in life to find a passion that ignites your soul and to never give up.

In 2023, I became the first person in history to climb every peak in Colorado over 12,000ft after Lidar analysis. That’s over 1,300 peaks! In addition, I have climbed every 10,000 and 11,000-foot peak in the state of Colorado, not to mention over 4,000 unique peaks throughout the U.S. When I’m not climbing mountains, I’m a passionate ultra-runner. Between 2011 and 2024, I ran and completed twenty-one hundred-mile races, winning ten of those races.   If I’m not running or climbing mountains, I enjoy biking, yoga, mobility, rock climbing, reading, meditation, gardening, and my cats.

I’m a master coach of ultra-runners, peakbaggers, and ultra endurance adventurers. I’m a best-selling author and a passionate speaker.  I’m a recovering alcoholic, drug user, and smoker, going on over fifteen years of sobriety. I’ve also been in eating disorder recovery for multiple years and thriving. I’ve found a balance between work and life, running and mountain climbing, inspiring speaking and writing, but none of it came easily. I’ve gone through hundreds of failures and complicated situations involving addiction. You can use my previous experiences in order not to fall into the same trap.

My husband John and I created a lifelong goal called the Kirk Project; A massive goal to take on all the 12,000ft and above peaks of the contiguous USA. Our passion, drive and determination to try hard things and to never give up have led us to achieve over seventy percent of this goal to date, and we are still going. The Kirk Project has been an embodiment of our mission to inspire ourselves and others to dream bigger and develop long-term goals, exemplify dedication in striving toward these goals, and plan for success in achieving them. We continue to redefine what we’re capable of and how hard we’re willing to try. A life lived authentically and passionately, striving to be better, is the life better lived.

As an addict who has achieved sobriety, I want to inspire and encourage those struggling with substance abuse and other addictions by sharing my story. Additionally, as a woman who has fully recovered from multiple eating disorders and who has accepted her body size and shape, I know how challenging overcoming these disorders can be and can help guide you down the right path.

I am here today to celebrate and document my recovery of multiple addictions and disorders, and in doing so, act as a beacon of hope for those suffering from substance use disorders, addictive behaviors, and eating disorders. I invite you to walk with me through my recovery process, and I will help guide you towards beating your illness and achieving your wildest dreams.
